Patricia began studying yoga in a Bikram studio in Philadelphia in 1999, and moved into Astanga practice a few years later. The benefits and traditions of Astanga continue to influence her relationship with yoga, but her practice and teaching style are now deeply informed by Bhakti traditions of devotion and surrender, and by Yin Yoga restorative practices. Patricia has benefited from a range of teachers across many yoga traditions, including Eric Powell, Gingi Lee, Ingrid Lewis, Maritza, and Paul and Suzee Grilley. Formally, she completed a Yin Yoga teacher training with Christy Brown in 2013, and her RYT-200 hr teacher training with Nubia Teixeira (2014), with an emphasis on yoga to support pelvic floor health. She completed Leslie Howard’s Pelvic Floor Teacher Training (basic and advanced), and holds an additional YA-certification in yoga for cancer survivors.
In accordance with the recent Yoga Alliance regulations on yoga therapy, she completed her RYT-500 hr YA certification, and a separate Level 1 IAYT Yoga Therapy certification in May 2016 under the expert guidance of Robin Gueth and the faculty at The Stress Management Center of Marin. She continues to deepen and enrich both her personal practice and teaching with sustained study and reflection. I live in Marin County with my husband and two children, and our dog and cat. A California native, I’m pleased to be home after nearly twenty years living in Nashville, Philadelphia, and London. I continue to spend time each year in England.
