Rachel fell in love with yoga at a very young age as she spent a good part of her childhood in ashrams with her yogi parents meditating, chanting and learning poses from the Integral Yoga tradition. Rachel majored in World Religion and Anthropology in college, which led her to a palace in western India, where she studied yoga and sitar, and performed for kings. In 2008 she moved to New York City to pursue her passion for yoga and music and studied with many of the beautiful teachers at Jivamukti. Rachel completed her yoga and yoga dance teacher training in Costa Rica at the Nosara Yoga Institute and was certified as a prenatal yoga teacher at Mama Tree with Jane Austin in San Francisco.
Rachel is incredibly grateful to all her teachers who have provided a nurturing environment for her to blossom and who have encouraged her to look to her own inner wisdom. Her approach to yoga is one of self-inquire and discovery, and Rachel finds herself continuously growing through this daily practice. Rachel currently lives in the Cascade Canyon redwoods with her fiancé and spends her time singing, hiking, cooking and building her practice as a holistic health coach, birth doula and of course, yoga teacher.
